1. Yes, I think that this adaptation is appropriate given then subject matter of the story. The form of the film fits the content really well because it followed the idea of the actual story and focused on the main ideas, such as a "clean well lighted place."
2. I feel that the film is true to Hemingway's intent for the story because it portrays the characters well and focused on keeping the dialogue similar to that of the story, simple. Hemingway's existential-nihilistic ideas are reflected when the waiters are talking and keep repeating the word, "nada."
3.I thought that the production covered all of the elements in the story really well. It followed almost all the lines perfectly. However, I felt it was somewhat difficult to understand the characters because they had accents that were really heavy, and therefore to me it effected the emotion shown in the characters.
4. I think the filmmakers really kept true to Hemingway's original, which made it easier and more interesting to follow. However, I think the message comes through stronger on the page because it allows the reader to use their own imagination and create their own images.
5. I would have also kept the story close to Hemingway's story. Also, i think i would have found actors that didn't have accents because i felt that didn't fit in with the story and have them show more emotion to portray the story better.
